Minimum recommended illumination levels (measured in lux) are recommended for different tasks. Poor lighting leads to eye strain, migraines, headaches, lethargy, irritability and poor concentration which can feed into Sick Building Syndrome. Poor lighting , if not corrected can leads to absenteeism, accidents, reduced efficiency and productivity. In some workplaces, good lighting is also critical to the identification of hazards.
