Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can seep out of the ground and build up in houses and indoor workplaces to unacceptably hazardous levels. It is the 2nd greatest cause of lung cancer resulting in up to 250 cases of lung cancer in Ireland and 30 deaths per year in Northern Ireland.
